●Short description of event:
The proposed side event will;
-Convene roundtable discussions joined by prominent stakeholders from
Japan, South Korea, and Germany, to identify ways for further
cooperation. Countries in East Asia will play crucial roles, together
with initiatives undertaken by European Union and most prominently by
Germany, to pursue the possible political commitment, local
initiative, and the partnership between civil society including
business community all those are indispensable to promote renewable.
-Has its objective in achieving start-ups of partnerships which are
extremely important for promoting renewable energies, involving
governments, local communities, civil society, and industry.
-Try to come up with a declaration, the drafting process of which
will be joined by politically eminent players. They include
pro-renewables parliamentarians, influential community leaders,
renewables business player, and civil society leaders working on
energy issues, from Japan, South Korea, and Germany respectively.
-The outcomes will be delivered to 'International Solar City Congress
2004' scheduled to take place in this November in Daegu City, Korea.
